Fix Registry Errors Step by Step
Errors hit almost every PC and in some cases your computer may have problems or even crashes. Registry errors are the common reason for computer crashes and slowdown. First we should know how registry causes PC errors.
As our registry becomes very large it takes windows longer to find the exact data it's looking for. This can cause slower boot up times, or make it appear that your computer is hanging after you double click on a program icon.
The other thing that can cause your PC to misbehave is old information or missing information in the windows registry. If windows goes looking for something and cannot find it then an error is going to occur.
There are several things that can cause registry errors, how ever the biggest culprit has to be removing software programs, and the software leaving behind remnants of itself both on your hard drive and in the registry, along with spyware or adware programs that make entries in the registry that don't have anything to do with software currently installed on your PC.
So, periodically checking your registry for errors like these is important to keep things running smoothly and reduce errors that windows may run into.
Step #1 - Download and install a registry cleaner software program. I like RegCure and left you a link below to download it for yourself. Like most registry scanners, the RegCure download is free.
Step #2 - Install the software. This is an easy step, just follow the instructions to install the program you just downloaded.
Step #3 - Run a registry scan. One of the first options you will have after installing your registry cleaner is to let it run a registry error scan. Go ahead and let it run. This step only takes a minute.
Step #4 - See how many errors you have. The software will let you know how many errors it found in your registry. You will have the option to let the software fix those registry errors automatically.
At this point, you may need to upgrade your software in order to do the cleanup. Registry cleaner review software is very inexpensive, so not to worry. Besides, if you can avoid taking it to the repair shop or add years on to the lifetime of the computer it's well worth it.
Step #5 - Repair the registry. Set your options and let your software repair your registry. This step can take a few minutes, especially if you have allot of errors to fix.
If all went well, you should be able to restart your computer to a fresh and faster PC. Fixing registry errors can also solve problems like error messages, blue screen crashes, and software that won't run. You might just find that you fixed more than one issue that your PC had.
