DISK ACCESS TWEAK


Disable Indexing Service

By disabling some of the disk access services, you can improve your computer file access
Go to My Computer,select all drive, and right click properties.

Uncheck “Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching”, click apply -> O.K button. Although this way your hard disk search will be slower, but overall file creation speed is a lot faster. Unless you need to search for file all the time, this is a recommended tweak.

Disable Windows XP Sounds Theme
Sound effects will slow down your system start up and shutdown speed, if you are not particular to multimedia effect or does not have a speaker, you can disable the sounds theme. (Start -> Settings-> Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Sounds -> Sound Scheme, select “No Sounds”).
Defrag you hard disk
This is a common tool in Windows (Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Defragmenter). Defrag is a process to rearrange hard disk fragmentation into a smooth stream of data, allow faster access to file and data.
